YSS Centenary Scholarships for BTKIT Dwarahat - Second Disbursement - 2018

The celebrations of the Centenary Year of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS) were concluded in March 2018. As part of the celebrations, YSS Dwarahat Ashram had earlier given away scholarships to deserving students from Bipin Chandra Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology (BTKIT) located in the town. In its second disbursement of these scholarships in September 2018, four students were handed cheques for winning the 2017 special YSS Centenary Year Scholarships.

The recipients of the scholarships were Manish Sharma, Gargee Bhardwaj, Mahendra Singh and Ruchi Choudhary. These students from BTKIT won the scholarships through a written test based on Gurudeva Sri Sri Paramahansa Yoganandaji's world-renowned spiritual classic the Autobiography of a Yogi. They received a total scholarship amount of INR 275,000.

The scholarships are handed over every year on the Mahasamadhi Divas of Sri Sri Lahiri Mahasaya which also marks the first day of the annual five-day YSS Dwarahat Sangam. This year, YSS sannyasi Swami Hiteshanandaji gave away the scholarship cheques to the students in the presence of their college professor Sri Vishal, who is also a devotee of YSS. The programme was conducted by Swami Vasudevanandaji who is in-charge of YSS Dwarahat Ashram.
