Dispensing How-to-Live teachings of Gurudeva, Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, to the young ones is one of the objectives keenly pursued by Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS). To serve this end, most Ashrams of YSS conduct Sunday school programmes for children coinciding with the normal Sunday satsanga for regular devotees.
YSS Dwarahat Ashram has also started its Children Sunday Satsanga. On April 22, 2018, Swami Vasudevanandaji inaugurated the satsanga by lighting the lamp and explaining the benefits of attending children satsanga to those present: "Being part of this every Sunday will gradually but surely change the life of these little ones for the better."
Eighteen children were present on the inaugural day, where they meditated briefly, heard stories and performed interesting activities. In their first activity of the Sunday satsanga programme, children were guided by volunteers to prepare paper boats. They also heard the story of Gurudeva Sri Sri Paramahansa Yoganandaji stopping the storm in Chittagong through his prayer.
Devotee-volunteer Vrinda ji is helping coordinate the activities of the Children Sunday Satsanga along with local devotees, Punam Sharma ji, Lynn ji, Neelam ji and Anil Sharma ji.
The children loved the Satsanga and looked forward to the following weekends to participate again in the wonderful Sunday school. It will be open to children of classes III to VII residing in Dwarahat.
