"In being of spiritual, mental, and material service to others, you will find your own needs fulfilled. As you forget self in service to others, you will find that, without seeking it, your own cup of happiness will be full."
- Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda
YSS Dwarahat Ashram has been engaged in various charitable activities and relief work in the vicinity of the ashram and in the nearby villages over the last few decades. Free medical camps for the locals in Dwarahat and neighbouring areas, a charitable school for the primary education of the locals, scholarships for deserving students – are some of the areas where YSS Dwarahat Ashram has provided support to the underprivileged with the aid of volunteers.
Medical Camps
On two occasions every year, for the last twenty years, monastics and dedicated volunteers of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS) hailing from the medical profession have been rendering their services for the local people through medical camps.
Thousands of local people have benefited from the services provided through these camps.
Charity to Individuals
Apart from the annual medical camps, YSS Dwarahat Ashram also provides charitable assistance for medical purposes to individuals identified for further treatment during these camps.
Free Primary Education
A primary school running from the premises of YSS Dwarahat Ashram has been providing education to the children of locals who essentially belong to the underprivileged section of this very small town on the foothills of the Himalayas. Students are additionally provided with school uniforms, books and stationery.
Children who have passed out from the school have gone on to win accolades in sports and academics, as well as in the professional spheres.
Scholarships
YSS Dwarahat Ashram lends support to the local students who show exceptional talent and aptitude, by providing various long-term scholarships as well as other forms of help.
