On September 30, 2023, 20 girl students from five Dwarahat schools received tablet devices as part of the scholarship initiatives of Yogoda Satsanga Sakha Ashram – Dwarahat. The tablet devices will aid in their online studies.
On the sacred occasion of the Avirbhav Divas (birth anniversary) of Sri Sri Lahiri Mahasaya, the param-paramguru of YSS/SRF devotees, Swami Smaranananda Giri, a senior YSS sannyasi, presented these tablets to the meritorious students.
These girl students studying in classes 9 to 12 were selected from five schools in Dwarahat and surrounding areas, which were the Adarsh Inter College, Suraikhet; Government Inter College, Asgoli; Government Inter College, Dwarahat; Inter College, Dwarahat; and Government Girls’ Inter College, Dwarahat.
In order to qualify for the scholarship, students appear for a written examination drawing questions from a few chapters of Yogi Kathamrit (the Hindi translation of Paramahansa Yogananda’s Autobiography of a Yogi) as well as some general knowledge questions.
The exam drew 180 girl participants from the five schools. From among the top 30 scorers, 20 students were selected based on a personal interview.
