Centenary Celebration, April 2017

The Yogoda Satsanga Society of India Centenary was celebrated at Dwarahat on April 9, 2017. On a sunny but very pleasant evening, the event was organized in the garden in front of the Dhyana Mandir. Swamis Nirvanananda, Vasudevananda and Sadananda conducted the programme.

The programme started with meditation followed by devotional bhajan sung by Swami Vasudevananda in which all the devotees joined in. Collective singing of God's name in the beautiful setting of the Himalayas was very uplifting. During the satsanga, Swami Vasudevananda shared a brief history of YSS. Swami Nirvanananda reminisced about his early days in the ashram when there were only a handful of monks to serve the work. He shared many stories of the time he spent travelling with beloved Sri Sri Daya Mata when she visited India, his days in the Ranchi Ashram, and how Dwarahat Ashram started.

The programme ended by offering heartfelt gratitude to beloved Gurudeva. By this time the entire ashram was bathed in moonlight. Lights on the Dhyana Mandir, Krishna Temple, candles on the floor in front of Krishna Temple, and devotional thoughts directed towards God and Guru made the evening memorable and spiritually fulfilling.
